And you don't have to do it alone
As I sit here staring at my screen, I want to share with you all the learning and growth that came out of four weeks in a car with my husband on the road visiting friends, family, and strangers.
I want to tell you about the hugs I gave to random store owners and how deeply they were felt by both of us.
I want to explain to you how much my right butt cheek has locked up from thousands of miles of driving in just a few weeks.
I also want to share about how much more flavor I add to food because of some of the most magical humans who fed me deliciousness.
Yet, I know that what I am meant to share has more to do with my phrase for the year—Tender Surrender—in that everything seems to be more on the timing of this magnificent Universe than it does on my teensy little hopeful calendar.
Every step of this road trip was surrendered and guided by something far greater than me.
And I am so grateful I let go and allowed it to be what it was, because the powerful connection I received from over 200 hugs, staying in private homes, and being gifted the most healing experiences could never have been planned.
As the world catches on fire, temperatures rise to a 125-year high, and we all sit in wait for what is to come, I found out that my brother-in-law has been deployed to Iran to be one of the few, the proud… and my heart breaks for my sister and her family in hopes that he comes home safely.
Which leads me to what I am really here to say…
My heart is breaking into a gazillion pieces for all of us.
And I am remembering what I am truly here to do. Slowly. Surely. Peacefully.
When we left for this Tour, we were house-bound and restless.
Dan & I had been fighting, dealing with some of the most painful parts of marriage, and needing a break from being home. By the time we got back, we realized we live in paradise. We realized we have everything we need, yet we forgot.
We forgot because we lost sight of what was truly important.
We forgot because we lost our way thinking we had to finish our to-do lists and build our empire.
We forgot because we were focused on the wrong things for way too long.
Now, we remember.
We remember that rest is our most important asset.
That healing is always waiting for us.
And that nothing is more important than those we love and who love us.
As I shifted away from what I planned to write today and into this magical flow, I saw this:
It’s time to remember who you really are. It’s also time to stop blaming the water for rising when we’ve straightened out our edges.
You were not put here on earth to write and complete to-do lists.
You are here to step fully into who you’re born to be.
hat said, this Tour has shown me that I am here to sit with humans who are stepping fully into themselves. Not to get them to see my way, but to see the way for themselves.
