resilience: (noun)

a: the ability to become strong, healthy, or successful again after something bad happens

b: the ability of something to return to its original shape after it has been pulled, stretched, pressed, bent, etc.

Resilience is that ineffable quality that allows some people to be knocked down by life and come back stronger than ever. Rather than letting failure overcome them and drain their resolve, they find a way to rise from the ashes. - Psychology Today

My favorite part: they find a way to rise from the ashes. They go all phoenix on the crap that knocked them down. And RISE!

1. Find a mentor

3. Get out of the office
Exercise can make you happy, even if it's as simple as a long walk. If you don't believe you have time, make it. Get up earlier, quit working so late, or take a 30 minute mid-day break. 4. Surround yourself with positive people
Surrounding yourself with happy people will motivate you. Whether it's the people you hire or the regulars at the coffee shop, find space to be inspired by others. Join the community at, share your happy moments and read about others'

5. Give back
